The Mammals and Other Wildlife of Marden Quarry

Wood MouseIn a busy suburban area such as Marden Quarry most mammals are active only during the night time which makes finding them difficult. Their presence is usually confirmed by finding their tracks. Bats are the obvious exception. They can be identified by listening in to the sounds they make to help them move around and find prey. This is called echo location and they can only be heard using special listening equipment as the frequencies used are beyond those which can be heard by the human ear. Wildlife is abundant in the Quarry but it requires a little knowledge and patience to find.More about mammals and other wildlife.s
