The Plants of Marden Quarry

Picture of a FoxgloveMarden Quarry holds a large number of plant species.  This is because it has a range of habitats including small pockets of Limestone grassland, a scarce habitat north of the River Tyne.   It also has an important population of Elderberry which is notable for its age.   To date 194 species of plant have been identified in the quarry.  To see some of these plants and learn more about them follow the link below.
